Cord blood, which is removed from the umbilical cord and placenta after a woman delivers a baby, is full of blood-producing stem cells that can be frozen and later used for transplants. Charter Medical’s customized gravity-flow collection bags make cord blood much easier to collect than traditional bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cells.
